33 years sitting at corporate tables, as a melanted woman primarily surrounded by type A white men who argued and negotiated for a living, sharpened my masking and shapeshifting abilities until I no longer identified with an identity other than ‘professional’.
I experienced this from a perspective of ‘not enough’ which manifested as shapeshifting into what I was ‘expected to be’ and the experience felt truthful.
Here’s the real truth though.
I was seated at those tables because my very presence is success.
I do not need to identity outwardly as anything other than who I am and what I bring to the table.
I create an atmosphere of success.
Allow me to reintroduce myself:
I am magic from sunup to sundown, moonrise to moonfall, and every moment in between.
I am magic.
Success is the atmosphere I create.
